It’s the end of an era at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Starting Sunday, June 8, 2025, fans will say a heartfelt goodbye to the beloved attraction MuppetVision 3D*. Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and the rest of the Muppet crew have brought laughter and nostalgia to guests for years, and their departure marks a bittersweet moment for many.

The closure of MuppetVision 3D—and the surrounding Muppet Courtyard—is making way for something monstrously exciting: Monstropolis! Inspired by the fictional city from Monsters, Inc., this brand-new land will bring Mike Wazowski, James P. Sullivan (Sully), and friends to life in thrilling new ways.
One of the standout features? Disney’s first-ever suspended roller coaster with a vertical lift, where guests will soar through the unforgettable “door scene,” suspended in mid-air by a laughter canister. It promises to be a scream!
And yes—rumors are swirling that fans might get to dine at none other than Harryhausen’s, the iconic sushi restaurant from the film. A seafood spot run by monsters? Count us in.
While the excitement for Monstropolis is building, the Muppets will be dearly missed. The good news? This isn’t a final farewell. Guests will still be able to enjoy their favorite Muppet characters across the park at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: Muppet Takeover, where Muppet Mayham will be taking on the roll of Aerosmith. This new theme will be filled with the same classic Muppet chaos and charm.
No official opening date for Monstropolis has been announced yet, but one thing is for sure—change is coming, and it’s going to be monstrously fun.
