Feeling a bit (or a lot) overwhelmed? Not sure where to start? Don’t worry—I've got you covered. I’ve put together the ultimate guide to the most magical day at Hollywood Studios.

Before You Arrive
Before check-in, be sure to book your must-do attractions using Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass (trust me, it's a game-changer!). You can read all about Disney’s new skip-the-line service [here].
Rope Drop Magic
I'm a huge fan of rope drop—a tradition that started when Cast Members would literally hold a rope to keep guests out until the park officially opened. In 2025, “rope drop” means early park entry—30 extra magical minutes before the park opens to the public. This perk is exclusively for guests staying at Walt Disney World Resorts, the Swan and Dolphin, or Shades of Green.
Start Your Perfect Day
Most days, Hollywood Studios opens at 9:00 AM, meaning rope drop is at 8:30 AM. I highly recommend arriving by 8:00 AM to be among the first in line.
Once the ropes drop, walk (don’t run!) down Sunset Boulevard to kick off your day with two iconic thrill rides:
Tower of Terror – Check into the spooky Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster – Race through L.A. traffic to catch Aerosmith’s concert.
Next, make your way to Hollywood Boulevard for:
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – A whimsical ride perfect for all ages.
By now, the park is open to everyone—but you’ve already conquered three of the biggest attractions!
A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Head to Galaxy’s Edge for breakfast: grab a Ronto Wrap and a Cold Brew Black Caf. This delicious on-the-go meal is perfect for the line at:
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run – Pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!
Want to ride Rise of the Resistance? This one's a must. Be sure to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass—wait times can be long, but the experience is 100% worth it.
Take your time exploring the immersive world of Batuu before heading back to your resort for a well-deserved midday break. Pro tip: Stay at a Skyliner resort for the most magical and convenient return.
Evening Adventures
After your break, it’s time for even more fun in Toy Story Land:
Compete in Toy Story Mania
Say hello to Buzz, Woody, and friends
Use a Lightning Lane for Slinky Dog Dash—ride at dusk for the most breathtaking views
Cap off the night with dinner at Woody’s Roundup Rodeo BBQ—a fun, all-you-care-to-enjoy meal that’s perfect for families (just don’t get caught by Andy!).
End with a Bang
Finish your perfect day back where it all began—Sunset Boulevard—for the breathtaking nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic! Trust me, you won’t want to miss it.
