✨ What Is the Kiss Goodnight?

About 30 minutes after Magic Kingdom officially closes, Cinderella Castle puts on a short, touching presentation. The Kiss Goodnight is Disney’s way of thanking guests for spending the day in the park—an unscheduled, quiet farewell that many visitors miss entirely.

🌙 What Happens During the Kiss Goodnight?

  • The lights on Cinderella Castle twinkle and gently change color

  • A soft, instrumental version of “When You Wish Upon a Star” begins to play

  • A narrator shares a message of gratitude and magic, reminding guests why Walt Disney built this park in the first place

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, on behalf of everyone here at the Magic Kingdom, we thank you for joining us today. We hope you had a magical experience, and that the memories you made will bring you back again soon. As you leave this special place, remember: dreams really do come true."

💫 Why It’s So Special

  • It’s not announced or listed in the app, making it feel like a secret Disney treasure

  • There are no crowds—most guests have already left, so it’s quiet, peaceful, and intimate

  • It’s a beautiful tribute to Walt Disney himself, and a reminder of the heart behind the magic

🕰️ When & Where to Watch

  • The Kiss Goodnight happens a few times every 15–30 minutes after the park closes

  • Best viewing spot: Stand on Main Street, U.S.A., facing Cinderella Castle

  • Be sure to check with nearby Cast Members if you’re unsure when it will play
